Sign-up instructions
Sign-ups for the event are expected to be done through the Play LATAM platform, and you will first need to set up your Play LATAM profile and have a Play! Pokémon Player ID.
Sign-ups are $45,000 ARS or $35 USD, and they open on 18 September at 19:00 local time (22:00 UTC). There are 64 spots for Masters players, 32 for Senior players and 32 for Junior players. Payment can be made through PayPal or MercadoPago (only for Argentina), and you have 48 hours after signing up to complete it; otherwise, the spots will be freed and deemed unclaimed.
- The unclaimed spots will be released in a second wave on 23 September at 19:00 local time (22:00 UTC).

The tournament is held in the following location:

Check-in can be done in advance on Saturday 9 November, or early on Sunday.
Players must be in the venue by 10 November at 9:00 local time (12:00 UTC) for the players meeting. The tournament starts thereafter with the Swiss rounds, and the top cut will be played thereafter on the same day.
Prizes
This event is part of the 2025 official TPCi circuit and thus it rewards Championship Points (CPs).
Participation goodies will be announced soon.

Overview
The Buenos Aires Special Championships is an official TPCi Regional-level event for Pokémon VGC, TCG and Pokémon GO. It is the second Special Championship and third Regional-level event of the 2025 season in the Latin American circuit.
The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set H, and it is played using open team lists.
A little bit of history
Argentina has been part of the Latin America region of the official TPCi circuit for many years. It has hosted multiple major events, including Special Events, Regionals and old-era National Championships. Argentina’s greatest VGC successes are the Worlds top 8 finishes achieved by Sebastián Escalante in 2017 and Federico Turano in 2018. Additionally, Argentine players have proven themselves as a major team force and they reached the finals of the 2023 World Cup of Pokémon VGC.
The most recent tournament held in Argentina was the 2024 Buenos Aires Special Event, played with the VGC Regulation Set G in May 2024. The finals saw 2020 LAIC semifinalist Juan Salerno defeat Uruguayan Agustín Marinucci to win his first major event in the Masters division!
