Sign-up instructions
Sign-ups for the event are expected to be done through the Play LATAM platform, and you will first need to set up your Play LATAM profile and have a Play! Pokémon Player ID.
Sign-ups are S/100 or $28 USD, and they open on 12 August at 19:00 local time (13 August at 00:00 UTC). There are 80 spots for Masters players, 32 for Senior players and 32 for Junior players.
- A new wave of sign-ups was later announced to open on 4 September at 13:00 local time (18:00 UTC). There are 40 new spots for Masters players.

Check-in can be done early on Saturday 5 October.
Players must be in the venue by 5 October at 9:00 local time (14:00 UTC) for the players meeting. The tournament starts thereafter with the Day 1 Swiss rounds. Seniors and Juniors start on the following day, 6 October at 9:00 local time (14:00 UTC).
Players qualified to Day 2 must be in the venue by 6 October at 9:00 local time (14:00 UTC) for the team checks. The Day 2 Swiss rounds and the top cut will be played thereafter.
Prizes
This event is part of the 2025 official TPCi circuit and thus it rewards Championship Points (CPs).
Players can opt to upgrade their registration for a “Lima SPE Pack”, which includes a playmat and two promo items.
Additionally, the best-placed players will receive the following CPs depending on final attendance:

Overview
The Lima Special Championships is an official TPCi Regional-level event for Pokémon VGC, TCG and Pokémon GO. It is the first Special Championship and second Regional-level event of the 2025 season in the Latin American circuit.
It is the first-ever Special Championships worldwide since its change of denomination from “Special Events”, and the first one in Latin America to award an invite to the World Championships to the winner.
The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set H, and it is played using open team lists.
A little bit of history
Peru has been part of the Latin America region of the official TPCi circuit for many years. It has hosted multiple major events, including Special Events, Regional Championships and old-era National Championships. Peru’s greatest VGC successes are the top 8 finish achieved by Dorian Quiñonez at the 2017 World Championships and the champion title achieved by Renzo Navarro in the online-era Players Cup IV in 2021.
The most recent tournament held in Peru was the 2024 Lima Special Event, played with the VGC Regulation Set G in May 2024. The finals saw 2017 Worlds quarter-finalist Dorian Quiñonez defeat fellow Peruvian Sebastián Rodríguez to win his sixth Special title!
