Overview
The Bologna Special Event is an official TPCi Regional-level event for Pokémon VGC, TCG and Pokémon GO. It is the third Special Event and ninth and last Regional-level event of the 2024 season in the European circuit.
The ruleset is to be announced, and it is played using open team lists.
A little bit of history
Italy has been part of the Europe region of the official TPCi circuit for many years. It has hosted a few major events, including Regionals, Special Events and old-era National Championships. Italy’s greatest VGC success was Arash Ommati‘s 2013 World Championship win, the first one for a European player.
The most recent tournament held in Italy was the 2023 Turin Special Event, played with the Regulation Set C in June 2023. The finals saw 2-time International finalist Davide Cognetta defeat 2018 EUIC Champion Simone Sanvito to win his first Regional Championship title!
American James Evans, the 2018 Senior Division World Champion, defeated Brazilian Gabriel Agati in the NAIC finals.
